MackinVIA™ is a complete digital content management system created to provide schools with easy access to their collection of eBooks, digital audiobooks, online databases, approved web links, videos and more. Working with an ever-growing list of digital publishers, MackinVIA provides access to nearly 350,000 digital resources in a variety of formats. Ebooks are available in the more traditional format and, with the addition of the ability to host EPUB3 fixed-format materials, picture books, comics and graphic novels can be viewed on the digital platform as the authors and illustrators originally intended. Interactive eBooks integrate video, audio, pictures, and activities with the text to enrich the learning experience. Digital audiobooks are quickly downloaded for easy use on and offline. Educational Online Databases are pre-screened to allow students to safely research without the threat of inappropriate material or unwanted ads while schools can add their own links to websites and videos, as they see fit.
Presently used by nearly 9 million students around the globe, MackinVIA is a Free system that features an attractive PK-12 friendly interface and an array of cutting-edge features like MackinVIA Backpack, providing easy access to checkouts, requests, favorites, and a notebook.
MackinVIA includes many useful study tools. Readers can highlight or underline text, and create notes, then view a collective list of the highlights and notes within a title. An integrated dictionary allows the reader to easily find the definition of a word within the text, and citations are made available through EasyBib™. Schools using the Accelerated Reader program can link their account directly through the platform to allow students to easily access the available AR quizzes when they’ve finished reading qualifying eBooks. These combined features provide an enhanced learning experience that aligns using digital materials for reading and research to the tried-and-true practices of using print materials.
Accessibility is key with MackinVIA. The eReader can be accessed on all preferred mobile and desktop devices through 10 free cross-platform apps available for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android phone, Android tablet, Kindle, Nook, and Chromebook, as well as Mac and Windows PC. MackinVIA is Section 508 compliant when accessed through the web at mackinvia.com, with some accessibility features available on the mobile applications.
